What happens in a session?
I will encourage you, the client, to share your story. As your counsellor I will listen non-judgmentally and with empathy. Together we will set goals and work collaboratively to achieve them.
Is the session confidential?
Yes! What you share with me is confidential unless I believe there is a potential risk of harm to yourself or someone else; or your notes are subpoenaed by a court; or I discuss your presenting issues with my supervisor in which case you will be deidentified.
What qualifications does the counsellor have?
I have a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychology. I also have a current Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
Do we have to meet in person or can we meet online?
Currently I meet clients online through video call. If preferred I can arrange phone call. In person sessions will commence in the future. Send an enquiry through if this is something you’d like.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no generalised number to provide as each client has different needs during different seasons. While some clients only need one session to work through an issue, it is highly recommended that most clients begin with 3-6 sessions to begin making meaningful progress towards their goals.
